how great is our God
He is the greatest. Seriously! I went to the Hillsong London and Israel New Breed concert yesterday night and it was incredible. The songs they played were really good and the music was lovely - I once more realized on how much I’ve missed out during the past one-and-a-half year. Just the whole ‘concert’ feeling, it’s so amazing!
But one of the things that struck me most was the song How Great is Our God. I mean, I know it has been sung a hundredmillion times by a hundredmillion different bands and they let the entire public sing it alone, and then acapella and then with the entire band - I know I know I know. But just read this. With no prejudice in your heart, read this:
How great is our God - sing with me
How great is our God - and all will sing
How great, how great is our God
And you can tell me that this is just ‘simple praise’ or ‘too-much-heard-praise’, or whatever critics you have. But I don’t care, because in this song it is God who receives the honour. And just look at those lyrics: sing with me. That means that we sing this together! All will sing, together!
And that just struck me most. It was already amazing to sing of God’s greatness with an entire stadium full of people - but seriously, just imagine the whole world singing God’s praise! Just imagine that the entire earth will bow down for Our God and sing of His greatness.
A choir like you’ve never heard, a masterpiece like you’ve never seen - a perfect symphony.
And all of that just to honour our God. So yes, I sing along. With everything within me, even though it’s been sung a hundred times, I still sing along, because of how great our God is.
