I thank the Lord for these blessed seventeen years. Years that have brought me to the person I am now - I am thankful. Thankful for every blessing and gift that I have received, thankful for the friends that I have, thankful for my family - thankful. Thank you, God :)

Count your blessings

You absolutely should. Seriously, count them! I think we don’t realize enough how blessed we really are, how great and wonderful our lives are, how happy we should be. Oke, here comes mine:

I, first of all, have the best friends in the world. I think friends are só important, they partially make you who you are. And I picked the right ones (or.. they picked me?) and I am so glad that we are friends. They are such a blessing to me, and I thank God for them as much as I can :)

Then, second, I’ve finished school! Or at least, this year, hahaa! Yesterday I finished my final test and that was my prelude to summer. Now it’s finally here! Finally, no more evenings full of studying while I actually want to go outside and take photos of that gorgeous sunset. No more stuff that you have to hand in, everything is just.. freedom! :)

Third! There are tons of cool things coming up! My birthday, my party to celebrate the whole thing, my best friends’ birthday, new work at the bookstore where my mum also works, days full of swimming and reading. Hmm..

And at place number four there’s the amazing weather! My mood is always depending so much on the weather and it has been incredible for weeks! And it just keeps on getting better, blue-er, sunnier and warmer. I spend my days reading in the garden or swimming in the river! Could this life get any better?

And these are just a few of the tons and tons of blessings I’ve received. But I usually take them for granted and run over them as if all these blessings are just normal and usual life. But not this time. This time I will thank my amazing God for the blessings He gave me. I suggest you’d do the same :)

Stand up - Shine!

Jerusalem, stand up! Shine!
Your new day is dawning.
The glory of the Lord
shines brightly on you.
The earth and its people
are covered with darkness,
but the glory of the Lord
is shining upon you.
Nations and kings
will come to the light
of your dawning day.

- Isaiah 60: 1-3

sweet, heart breaking melody

Music is the ability to communicate thoughts without words. Minor chords can easily make me slip into a world that knows gray evenings with broken glass and tiny speckles of dust that rest on the wooden floors of abandoned homes. Stacatto notes tell me stories of vibrant tapestry that accented the Victorian decor of enchanted banquets held in lush estates surrounded by gardens of sweet smelling flowers. The crescendo of a piece can remind me of falling slowly while the descrescendo brings me back to lonely nights spent beneath stars.

I reblogged Kjersti on this :)
